What, How and Why on Safelists for Advertising!
Image by dcancel via FlickrFirst of all what is a Safelist, a Safelist is an advertising website that builds it's membership with online marketers or affiliate marketers or anyone who has a website that needs visitors. These websites work great for generating free traffic to one's website and do wonders for conversions as well depending on how you use them.
The very thing you must know about Safelists is that you will receive tons of emails daily or weekly from this Safelist and it will be hard to keep up, but don't worry what I tell all my students is to create themselves 2 free Gmail address before joining these Safelists and I always recommend Gmail because they are so reliable and hardly ever bounce your emails.
Most Safelists request 2 email addresses not all of them but most of them and they do this because one email address will be your Contact email where the admin of the Safelist will be able to contact you and the other will be the List email where you will receive all the emails that are sent by the members.
How this is works is simple, for each email that you read you will make posting credits or mailing credits and after so many credits you will then be able to send your own email to all the members. The way they determine that you indeed read the email is in each email they add a link to click on which will direct you to the website being advertised in that email and you will have to stay on that website anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds depending on which Safelist it is to receive the credit. There is work involved but it is free and affective and your emails get real visitors.
The trick to this method of advertising is in your subject lines and keeping your email short and sweet because most of the time members are going through these emails so fast trying to build up their credits to be able to send out an email of their own that they don't have the time to read a big long email, so a good solid subject line and a short but affective message will go a long way with Safelist advertising. It also helps to have an eye catching website that loads fast and straight to the point.
A lot of these Safelists will give you the option of buying credits so you don't have to do all that reading to build up credits and as an added bonus they will sell you what is called a Solo Ad which is the most affective email you can send because these emails go out to all the Contact and List emails of all the members, regular Safelist emails go out only to the List emails. So, even members who are not clicking on emails to build credits will receive these emails and another bonus to all members is they will receive more credits for reading Solo Ad emails so it is worth their time to read and most of them know this and make it a point to read Solo Ads.
Always keep in mind that your goal in all advertising is not only getting the word out on your product or business but your goal should be building your client list and you can do this by using auto-responder programs and capture pages which I will speak more on later. It is always a good idea to not only send people to your product or business you want to also capture their info so you can follow up with them later, most sales and conversion come with the follow up. In my next blog post I will speak about using capture pages or capture forms and following up with your clients.

How To Create Marketing Materials With A Bang
Running a business means taking risks and investing lots of money. In this age where everything seems highly digital and technical, you have to be innovative and resourceful in making your business known. The marketplace, after all, is saturated with many diverse businesses. It’s just easy for your marketing messages to get drowned in their noisy and busy ads. For this reason, it’s important that you do something unique in order to stand out from the competition.

Also, print cards that are exciting to look so readers will be enticed to keep your card for future reference. It’s critical though that the design don’t overshadow the content. Make your content as eye-catching as your material’s design.
•Consider the timing in releasing your marketing campaigns. In marketing, timing is everything. The time and occasion you release your brochures, postcards, catalogs, or banners do a lot to the success of your campaign. Just look at the ads created by the Red Cross. All throughout the year, they bring out TV ads, leaflets, and other promotional materials to continuously keep the public informed of their activities and services. But they boost up their marketing campaign in times of calamities and disasters. They study the situation well and adapt to the circumstance in order to touch more lives.
•Touch on people’s emotions. Don’t be afraid if your leaflets, posters, and business card printing will make people angry or happy. What is important is that your promotional items will stick in the reader’s mind. If you are able to get people’s emotion, then that’s a sure indication that your marketing campaign is effective. Your name will be easily remembered and you are likely the first to be called when the need for your product or service arise. So, remember to create your materials with your customer’s emotions in mind.

Content is King!
The four-year study, conducted by Nielsen/NetRatings, tracked a 37 percent increase
in amount of time spent viewing content such as online videos or news, surpassing a
35 percent rise in using search engines like Google Inc..
The abundance of content and faster online speeds accounted for the spike, the study
said. A proliferation of social networks such as News Corps' MySpace and Facebook have
helped boost content viewing as well.
Overall, viewing content accounts for 47 percent of time spent online in 2007, up from
34 percent in 2003. Web search accounted for 5 percent of time spent online in 2007
from 3 percent in 2003.
Time spent on commerce sites such as Amazon.com fell 5 percent and accounted for 15
percent of time spent in 2007.
Time spent on communications such as e-mail fell 28 percent to 33 percent of time spent
online in 2007, down from 46 percent in 2003.
The popularity of instant messaging such as AOL Instant Messenger, which lets users send
quick messages rather than e-mails, accounted for the drop in the amount of time spent
corresponding, the study said.

On November 10th, 2009, Cruz won a $136 million Mega Millions jackpot. The winning numbers, 04-17-26-46-56 and 25 (Mega ball), were Cruz's own picks, which originated from an old easy pick ticket. The ticket was purchased at Joy Mobil, 27350 Joy Rd., in Redford. The store will receive a $50,000 commission for the sale.
Cruz said friends thought he was pulling an April Fool's Day joke on them when he announced that he had won the jackpot.
He said he was "overwhelmed" by the win and plans to share the wealth. Cruz said he will give his four friends, with whom he has played the Lottery with for years, each $1 million.
The $136 million jackpot had originally been advertised at $135 million but sales supported the increased amount. Cruz selected to receive his payment in one lump sum payment of $84,367,246, less taxes.
Cruz is Texas's 7th Mega Millions jackpot winner. Previous amounts won were $17 million, $23.3 million (a portion of a jackpot shared with two other winners), $47 million, $208 million, $17.5 million (a portion of a jackpot shared with one other winner), and $75 million.
Mega Millions is a multi-state Lottery game offered in 12 locations: Michigan, California, Illinois, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Drawings are every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
